My choice

I have a broad taste regarding board games. I love to play abstract games, but I also like good themed games. Board games with only a few rules are my favourite. Nevertheless I also like more complex games with two hours playing time. Anyway, here you can find a short list of board games I really like.

Attika from Marcel-André Casasola Merkle – An unusual game. You will need more tactics and strategy, than you would think at first sight. Besides, it also makes fun with only two people.

Blokus – Good natured, loose laying game, where you can cross each other really good.

Carabande from Jean du Poël – A combination of racing and playing at marbles on a beautifully designed race-course. You can play with up to 8 people and you can count on a lot of fun.

Demarrage (Homas tour/Um Reifenbreite) from Rob Bontenbal (und J.R.W. Hommes?) – A nice and good cycle-racing game. When you have 2 games, you can play with even more than 4 players.

Go – Still the best game I know. Simple rules, challenging game. Always surprising.

Große Dalmuti from Richard Garfield – Very fine game. Not just because you need at least 5 people to play and have to change seats every time. But also because you have to abide your time, before playing the right cards.

Jungle Jam (oder Jungle Speed) – Marvellous! Remove fragile things. There is a chance of becoming wounded!

Kahuna from Günter Cornett – Nicely designed tactical laying game for two players.

Klunker from Uwe Rosenberg – Sympathetic, light game. Nevertheless it contains a few nice tactical elements.

Torres from Kramer und Kiesling – Beautiful strategic building game.

Vinci from Philippe Keyaerts – French game about rise and fall of civilizations. What makes it really outstanding is the variation in civilizations. Be aware: Play this game with my alternative game rule only!
